Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria

• CCT/equivalent in Geriatric medicine/Neurology/ Acute medicine (or within six months of CCT) or on the Specialist Register
• The candidate should have full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
• MRCP or equivalent

Desirable criteria

• Higher degree e.g. PhD or MD
• Research experience
• Formal Stroke Fellowship Experience

Experience

Essential criteria

• Broad experience in Stroke, Acute and General Medicine
• Experienced and competent in Stroke thrombolysis
• Experience of audit

Desirable criteria

• Undertaken a management course
• Understanding of the NHS and its organisation
• Completed publications in appropriate journal(s)
• Previous experience in HASU/ASU
