Libraries Manager - Pembrokeshire Library Service

Salary: Grade 10 £47,181 - £50,269 per annum
Basis: Permanent

Contracted hours: 37

This is a rare opportunity to lead and manage Pembrokeshire's Public Library Service. Reporting to the Head of Culture, Leisure and School Modernisation, you will be responsible for providing an accessible, efficient and high-quality library service across the county. The role involves strategic planning, operational management, budget management, workforce leadership, partnership development and performance improvement. Ensuring the service remains sustainable, meets Welsh Public Library Standards and supports the wider objectives of the Authority are important outcomes.

With a professional qualification in Librarianship/related discipline, or equivalent significant experience within a public library environment, you will have effective staff management skills, good experience of budget management and an ability to work effectively with partner organisations.

Key responsibilities:

Lead and manage the service, including community libraries and support functions, ensuring services are responsive, efficient and meet local needs.

Develop and implement service strategies, plans and policies that support continuous improvement.

Manage the library service budget, including the identification and delivery of service efficiencies.

Monitor and drive improved performance in collaboration with partners, stakeholders and customers.
