Lecturer - Leisure, Travel and Tourism

We are looking for a Lecturer in Leisure, Travel and Tourismto join our team. This is a 17.5 hours per week, part-time, permanent role offering a salary of £15,705 to £21,720 per annum.

Job Purpose/Key Responsibilities:
  • To carry out formal scheduled teaching.
  • To act as a personal tutor to a group/s of students.
  • To prepare learning materials and students' assignments.
  • Marking of students' work and examinations, moderation and verification.
  • To operate as part of a team in the monitoring, reviewing and evaluation of all aspects of the programme(s).
  • To maintain appropriate programmes, college records and quality system.
  • To assist with the annual unit self-assessment exercise in order to monitor and evaluate performance.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Level 2 or above in English and maths.
  • Level 3 or above in Travel and Tourism or Aviation/equivalent.
  • Teaching qualification or be willing to work towards within an agreed timeframe.
  • Sound grasp of relevant teaching strategies and techniques.
  • Substantial and successful teaching experience (up to level 3).
  • Have a working knowledge of current industrial practice in the Travel and Tourism industry.
