We're looking for an enthusiastic HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with expertise in teaching, training and supervision to join our supportive and ambitious team within the School of Health and Social Care.

As one of the UK's leading providers of allied health education, we deliver a diverse portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate and degree apprenticeship programmes across 14 registered professions. As part of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in teaching, assessment and academic activities contributing to our BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy Degree Apprenticeship and cross teaching to our full-time BSc Hons Occupational Therapy programme, helping to prepare competent, compassionate and practice-ready graduates.

You'll work closely with the course team and practice partners to ensure our programmes reflect the realities of contemporary occupational therapy practice and the changing needs of the NHS/other sectors.

Main duties of the job

Deliver an outstanding student learning experience through the design and delivery of high-quality, inclusive, and applied teaching grounded in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. In this role, you will actively champion student success by driving improvements in retention, attainment, and graduate outcomes. To deliver, and where appropriate lead, scholarship and research, innovation, knowledge exchange (RIKE) and/or professional practice/ engagement, producing high-quality outputs and developing pathways to impact that strengthen curriculum quality, advance academic activity, support income generation and enhance the Universitys academic reputation and civic mission, working collaboratively within academic teams and with external partners.

This role involves teaching, assessing and supporting student progressionon our pre-registration BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy- Degree Apprenticeshipprogramme to prepare learners for contemporary practice. This post is ideal foran HCPC-registered Band 6 or experienced Band 5 occupational therapist seekingto move into higher education, with opportunities to innovate teaching andinspire students, contribute to research activities and develop an academiccareer.

Contribute to and/or lead the design, development andcontinuous improvement of learning activities, digital resources and assessmentstrategies, using module review and student feedback to enhance learning andensure alignment with quality assurance frameworks, external reference pointsand emerging pedagogic practice;

ocontribute to thedesign and delivery of assessment, including project or dissertationsupervision where appropriate, ensuring alignment with learning outcomes andacademic standards.

Provide, oversee and qualityassure assessment andfeedback processes within allocated modules within stipulated timeframes,ensuring constructive feedback that supports students learning, progression,academic integrity and achievement.

Provide oversight and subject specific academic adviceto support students progression and engagement; ensure effective signpostingand appropriate referral to pastoral and support services, acting as a firstpoint of contact and triaging students to specialist support where appropriate,contributing to the enhancement of student outcomes across the programme.

Lead or contribute to the operational management ofmodules and course management activities, projects or academic activities, whenrequired/ appropriate, ensuring effective organisation, communication andtimely resolution of day-to-day issues.

Build and maintain relationships with externalpartners (e.g. employers, industry and professional communities), engaging withnetworks and partnerships to support curriculum development, employability,applied learning and student opportunities and enhance the student experience.

Provide management and guidance to colleagues,including direct reports where appropriate; support work planning andcontribute to performance management;

ocontribute to keyHROD processes such as recruitment, induction, development planning andcontribution to appraisal.

oact as a point ofescalation for colleagues, as and when required
