Grade 7 - £39,906 to £44,746 per annum pro rata (depending on experience)

Sheffield Institute of Education (SIoE) offers sector-leading initial teacher training in Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Post-16 education and is rated Outstanding by Ofsted across all four phases. We are currently seeking applications for a post within our Primary and Secondary Initial Teacher Training provision, with specialist expertise in Computing education. The programmes associated with this role prepare trainees to teach across Key Stages (1 to 4) and Post 16, with opportunities to also work with trainees from our SCITT partner schools. We welcome applications from candidates who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have recent experience of teaching in schools.

The successful applicant will teach Computing across our QTS programmes. The role includes responsibility for the teaching, learning and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate students, alongside working collaboratively with our partnership schools to support trainees' placement experiences. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality curriculum that enables trainees to develop strong subject knowledge, pedagogical understanding, and reflective practice in Computing education.

Staff members often teach across different areas of our provision. The successful candidate will therefore be expected to contribute to both Primary and Secondary Initial Teacher Training (ITT), as well as other related teaching at undergraduate and Master's level. The role will also involve undertaking school visits and providing academic advising and support to trainees.
