Are you a qualified Psychologist with a passion for sharing your clinical expertise and inspiring the next generation of mental health professionals?

This is an exciting time to join the School of Psychology as we expand our practice-based education and develop new initiatives in Clinical Psychology. As Lecturer in Clinical Psychology, you will use your professional experience to help shape and deliver high-quality clinical teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, supporting students to develop the knowledge, critical thinking, and practical skills they need for their future careers.

We welcome applications from clinicians working within the NHS or private sector, and part-time applications are warmly welcomed for those wishing to combine an academic role with continued clinical practice.

As Lecturer in Clinical Psychology you can expect to be involved in:

• Contributing to the development of new teaching provision, which is focused on professional Clinical Psychology, including at MSc and BSc and apprenticeship.
• Contributing to core teaching in translational psychology on Undergraduate and MSc Psychology programmes.
• Using a variety of teaching and assessment methods, particularly those that aid clinical skill building to ensure that defined learning objectives are met both online and in person.
• Supervising students undertaking research through their final year project and/or MSc project in psychology, particularly clinical psychology, with support from the clinical team.

What will you bring to the role?

• Up to date and advanced knowledge of clinical psychology.
• Experience of applying psychology in practice and in non-HEI settings (e.g., hospitals, clinics, prisons).
• Ability to provide high quality teaching within our clinical psychology programmes.
• Ability to engage and inspire students in teaching and supervision.
