About the Role

As a Carpentry Tutor, you will deliver high-quality teaching and practical training to students studying carpentry and joinery. You will play a key role in equipping learners with the technical skills, industry knowledge, and professional behaviours required to succeed within the construction sector.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching and training in carpentry and joinery.
  • Support, motivate, and inspire learners to achieve their full potential.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support development.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and industry-standard workshop environment.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities.

  • Promote high standards of workmanship, professionalism, and health and safety.

What We're Looking For

We would love to hear from candidates who have:
  • Substantial industry experience in carpentry, joinery, or the wider construction sector.
  • A passion for sharing their knowledge and developing future industry talent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to delivering an outstanding learner experience.
  • Relevant vocational qualifications in Carpentry, Joinery, or Construction.

A teaching qualification is desirable; however, we welcome applications from industry professionals looking to move into education, with support available to gain teaching qualifications.

Why Join Kidderminster College?
  • Become part of a friendly, collaborative, and supportive team.
  • Play a vital role in developing the next generation of skilled carpenters and joiners.
  • Access ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Work in modern, industry-focused facilities.
