Job description

Bolton College is looking to appoint ambitious, talented, and enthusiastic Lecturer As in English to join our flourishing team. You will provide high quality and inclusive teaching and learning on GCSE/Functional Skills and non-accredited Community Learning courses. Applications from NQTs are welcome.

Ideally, you will:

• Relevant degree or equivalent.
• Teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE).
• Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
• Proven track record in the teaching of English GCSE to 16-18-year-olds.
• Experience of embedding English into vocational or academic programmes of study.
• Experience of developing and designing interactive learning materials and innovative resources to meet personalised learning requirements.

Day-to-day you will be responsible for:

• To deliver high quality and inclusive teaching and learning on one or more courses.
• To support the Head of Department on curriculum and course development.
• To take part and comply with all quality assurance procedures and systems within the area of responsibility.
• Develop resources, support teaching programmes and deliver on a number of courses as required.
• To support the achievement of annual targets for learner numbers, income, expenditure and success rates.

As an individual you will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk, and will therefore be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
