Job description


The successful person will be responsible for:

• Overseeng the collection, management and organisation of data ensuring changes to data systems are effectively implemented.
• Working with Data and Digital colleagues to ensure that data models and structures used in internal and external applications and services are aligned with the agency's strategic objectives and follow agreed data standards.
• Expanding and continually review the core data assets and environment to support the needs of the organization
• Defining and enforcing appropriate data quality and governance standards to ensure data is secure and controlled, adopting appropriate change management processes for data and systems changes and management of associated risk.
• Leading the maintenance and development of a range of core data services, automating data pipelines and ensuring that key data is consistent and accurate across the whole data ecosystem

ResponsibilitiesIn order to complete the responsibilities for this role, the successful candidate will have:

Experience:
• Extensive experience of working on cloud technologies such as Azure Data Factory/Databricks or using an ETL tool such as Informatica, Talend, Boomi or similar.
• Proven experience of working with large and complex structured and unstructured data
• Proven experience of working with SQL and relational database
• Proven experience of working with schema-less NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB, MongoDB
• Experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships with technical and non-specialist colleagues.
• Experience of managing data projects and teams in an Agile environment.
• Experience with Enterprise Metadata Management and data quality standards, and creating and deploying best practices and methodologies
• Demonstrable experience in a role that includes problem solving, analytical and logical skills
