Job DescriptionThe current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
The Outreach Team is looking for organised, professional and enthusiastic students to work as Student Ambassadors at an upcoming on-campus outreach event. In this role, you will help create a welcoming and positive experience for visiting college students and tutors.
Duties will include:- Welcoming visitors and assisting with registration on arrival
- Supporting late arrivals by directing them to the correct event sessions
- Providing general information and assistance throughout the day
- Supporting tutors during breakout sessions
- Sharing your experiences of studying at Manchester Met and living in Manchester
You will provide helpful information to pupils studying languages in secondary education, sharing insights into your degree programme, the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Manchester Met, and your own experiences of studying languages at university.
This is a great opportunity to develop your communication, teamwork and customer service skills while representing Manchester Met and inspiring prospective students.
Date: Wednesday 23 September 2026
Hours: 9:00am to 3:00pm (35-minute lunch break)
Briefing: A briefing for the event will be provided either online before the event or on the morning of the event.
Person SpecificationApplicants must:
- Be a current Year 3 Manchester Met student studying within the BALLT programme (Languages, Linguistics and TESOL)
- Have strong verbal communication skills and be confident engaging with pupils and teachers of foreign languages
- Be able to act as a positive ambassador for your course, the Languages programme, and Manchester Met
- Work effectively with the Language Outreach Coordinator and wider event delivery team
- Demonstrate a positive attitude towards studying languages in higher education and at Manchester Met
- Be reliable, professional and punctual
- Be comfortable sharing your experiences of studying at Manchester Met and living in Manchester
