Job summaryWe are looking for a highly motivated and innovative Junior Sister with a passion for Dermatologyideally with prior dermatology experienceto join our busy and dynamic Dermatology Outpatients team at Radcliffe.
The Dermatology Centre at Salford Royal offers a full range of dermatology services and is one of the largest centres of its kind in Europe.
While the main department is based at Salford Royal Hospital, we also provide services across our spoke sites in Bury, Stockport, and Altrincham.
Your primary base will be Radcliffe however, you will be expected to work across sites when required.
You will be a motivated team player with a flexible approach and a strong commitment to your own professional development.
Each year, the centre cares for approximately 13,000 new outpatients, in addition to 26,000 follow-up appointments. We are committed to delivering the highest achievable standards of patient care.
Main duties of the jobIn this varied and rewarding role, you will provide essential leadership and support to ensure the smooth running of the service and delivery of high-quality patient care. You will work closely with the wider team, contributing to both clinical excellence and service development.
Key Responsibilities - Deputise in the absence of the Band 7, providing leadership and continuity of service
- Support the delivery of Dermatology clinics
- Take responsibility for all elements of patient care, ensuring high standards at all times
- Provide managerial leadership and day-to-day support to the team
- Support and deliver education and training for staff
- Lead and contribute to the Quality Agenda and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage staff absence and sickness, supporting staff wellbeing
- Oversee and manage staff rosters effectively
- Support and educate students and learners within the department

Person Specification Professional registration Essential - Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Part 1 Adult / General Level 1 or 2)
Desirable - Qualification in Dermatology
Knowledge, Training and Experience Essential - Evidence of clinical expertise and knowledge acquired through CPD and experience.
- Evidence of involvement and leadership in teaching and mentoring learners
