Java Architect

Job description

• Architect & Deliver: Design and implement distributed, fault-tolerant Java services (microservices, APIs, event-driven systems) meeting performance, scalability and availability targets.
• Data Strategy: Define data models and storage strategies across RDBMS and NoSQL systems; own indexing, partitioning, replication and recovery approaches.
• Caching & In-Memory: Design and operate caching and in-memory solutions, select cache patterns (cache-aside, read-through, write-through), and size memory cubes for low-latency analytics.
• Messaging & Streaming: Architect event-driven pipelines and streaming flows; enforce idempotency, ordering, and delivery semantics.
• Performance & Reliability: Lead JVM and system tuning (GC, thread pools, connection pools), capacity planning and load-testing.
• Observability & SRE Practices: Implement structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, SLAs/SLOs and runbooks.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure secure-by-design services, and support compliance requirements.
• CI/CD & Cloud Operations: Drive CI/CD, containerisation, orchestration, and automated deployment patterns.
• Engineering Excellence: Own code quality (ADRs, code reviews, static analysis), testing strategy, and mentor the team.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Lead cross-functional initiatives, present technical roadmaps, and communicate clearly with stakeholders across regions.
