Details:

We are seeking an encouraging and patient Digital Skills Facilitator to deliver a series of short, highly practical IT modules designed to build confidence in adult learners.

Running on Tuesday afternoons, these successive 4-week courses are aimed at everyday basic tech users who want to develop their online skills, protect their personal information, and safely navigate modern digital platforms. You can apply to teach individual modules or the entire series of three.
  • Facilitate weekly 2-hour sessions covering fundamental online skills, including safe web search strategies, identifying online scams and security threats, and navigating popular social media platforms.
  • Demystify Cybersecurity, break down complex online safety concepts (such as phishing, password management, and privacy settings) into simple, actionable steps that prevent learners from falling victim to hackers.
  • Support Diverse Abilities by providing highly supportive, hands-on guidance for learners with varying levels of confidence, ensuring a patient and pressure-free learning environment.
  • Use simple formative assessment methods to ensure learners are applying safe practices and feel confident using their own devices or centre equipment.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Excellent knowledge of internet browsers, online safety protocols, device security, and major social media platforms.
  • Patience & Empathy with a warm, highly supportive facilitating style. You must be able to explain technical jargon in simple, everyday language without making learners feel overwhelmed.
  • Teaching/Facilitation Experience - Experience delivering digital skills training or informal IT workshops to adults, senior citizens, or community groups is highly desirable.
  • Inclusivity Focused with dedication to closing the digital divide by building learner independence and confidence.
