Job summary

The department is the vascular hub for the region and participates in the Black Country Alliance (BCA) service, which provides a 24/7 on-call service for both vascular and non-vascular emergency procedures.

The department uses a range of medical devices to perform both routine and complex elective and emergency procedures in the Interventional Radiology department including Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR). The department has performed over 900 EVAR procedures since 2006.

The department has evolved considerably over recent years and will continue this process as we expand into new procedures and patient services.

Main duties of the job

To deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging across a broad range of Interventional Radiology procedures, ensuring compliance with current Ionising Radiation Regulations and departmental Local Rules. The post holder will provide exceptional patient care while maintaining patient privacy, dignity, and safety at all times.

The role involves supporting the operational delivery of both vascular and non-vascular interventional radiology services, while contributing to staff training, service development, and ongoing transformational change initiatives.

The successful candidate will be required to participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota, including weekends and bank holidays.

In addition to Interventional Radiology, the post holder may be expected to work across other imaging modalities, including Fluoroscopy, the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab), Hybrid Theatre, and the General Imaging Department, according to service requirements.
