Job summaryApplications are invited for a clinical Fellow ST8 levelpost, offered by the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, based atWorcestershire Royal Hospital. This is a fixed-term post for a period of 12months.
Main duties of the jobThispost is designed to offer experience in the full range of coronary interventionfor a candidate nearcompletion of training. Exposure to the full range of elective, urgent andemergency procedures full time for 12 months will serve to perfect techniquesand decision making in coronary intervention, intravascular ultrasound, OCT,rotational and orbital atherectomy, bifurcation, LMS and CTO PCI.
During this dedicated interventional fellow post, the duties are care of thepatients in or coming to the cardiac catheter suite. Diagnostic and invasiveprocedures under consultant supervision will include 8 cardiac catheter labsessions, 1 outpatient clinic and a dedicated administration and researchsession. The Trust works closely with 3 surgical centres, and the post holderwill also prepare cases for and support weekly multi-disciplinary meetings and monthlyPCI M&M and case review sessions.
Further opportunities can be availablefor cardiac imaging experience.The post also offers the opportunity for involvement and responsibility forrecruitment to trials. The department are actively involved in interventionalcardiology trials run by four Cardiology Research Nurses. The post holder willbe expected to support the recruitment to current trials and have an interestin undertaking clinical research.
