Full time 37 hours per weekWe are recruiting for a full-time Highway Asset Technician to join the Asset Management (Policy & Programme) Team.

The role supports the Programme Development Engineer in the planning and delivery of countywide highway maintenance programmes, with a particular focus on preventative treatment programmes. The successful candidate will also provide support to the wider Asset Team as required.

The role is based in Exeter, with a requirement to support activities across Devon as needed. You will work closely with colleagues across the Asset Group, Neighbourhood Highway Teams, the wider service, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Countywide Programmes: Provide project and programme support to the Programme Development Engineer and the wider team across a range of highway asset initiatives. Assist in the development and coordination of forward maintenance programmes, with a particular focus on preventative treatments.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support the development of maintenance programmes.
• Community Collaboration: Work alongside other Devon County Council teams to understand community needs and priorities when planning and delivering highway maintenance schemes.
• Policy and Strategy: Support the development and implementation of asset management strategies, policies, and plans, contributing to data-led decision-making.
