Person specificationQualifications Essential criteria - Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
- HCPC Registered
- Evidence of post graduate training/qualification relevant to clinical area -paediatrics / Neonatal
Desirable criteria - CSP member
- Member of CSP Specialist section - APCP/ BAPM
Experience Desirable criteria - Ability to demonstrate working with regional/national networks
Experience Essential criteria - NHS experience working at senior level
- Clinical experience within neonatal and paediatrics
- Experience of working on a neonatal unit and follow up of pre-term and high-risk babies
- Experience of multi-disciplinary working
- Demonstrate active involvement in the audit process
- Experience of change management
- Experience of supervising and mentoring junior members of staff and pre-registration students
- Experience of developing staff and sharing knowledge
Knowledge Essential criteria - Demonstrate sound level of theoretical profession specific knowledge
- Evidence of current practices and developments within the field paediatrics / respiratory / neonatal
- Sound knowledge of interventions relevant to clinical area
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of clinical governance including implications on service and audit
Key Skills/Abilities Essential criteria - Provide enhanced clinical care in line with professional registration, code of conduct and defined scope of practice, being responsible and accountable for decisions
- Flexible and adaptable to prioritise workload
- Demonstrate self-reflective practice and experience of supporting others with reflective practice through supervision or mentorship
- Ability to demonstrate good written, verbal and non- verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to use evidence-based practice to inform clinical care
Other Essential criteria - Awareness and respect for colleagues, patients and relatives cultural, religious, and emotional needs and beliefs
- Able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trusts Values and Behaviours
- Exposure to delivering distressing news to patients and family / carers
