In this HGV Driver Loader role, you will be required to ensure the collection of household waste and recycling using wheeled bins, sacks or other collection systems. Act as a loader as and when required.
This position is a 39hr Week working 4 days over 5 Mon-Fri with Rota'd rotating day off.
About the Role Make a real difference in your local community every day. As an HGV Waste & Recycling Driver Loader, you'll play a vital role in keeping Cheshire East clean, safe and environmentally sustainable. More than just driving, you'll lead and support a dedicated collection crew, ensuring household waste and recycling services are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards for our residents.
Every day brings something different. You'll take responsibility for your allocated vehicle, carry out essential safety checks, manage collection routes, support missed and assisted collections, and help ensure our services run smoothly. You'll be trusted to organise and motivate your team, solve problems on the go and provide an excellent service to the communities we serve.
This is an active, hands-on role that combines driving, teamwork, leadership and customer interaction, offering the opportunity to work outdoors, stay physically active and make a visible contribution to protecting the environment and supporting our residents.
Working a 39-hour week over four days from Monday to Friday, with a rotating day off, you'll benefit from an excellent work-life balance while being part of a valued frontline service.
About You We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working as part of a team and wants to make a positive impact every day. You'll hold the appropriate HGV licence together with a valid Driver CPC and have experience operating similar vehicles safely and professionally. Beyond your driving skills, you'll be someone who enjoys leading by example, supporting colleagues and delivering excellent service to customers.
You'll be confident organising workloads, motivating others and adapting to changing priorities. A strong awareness of health and safety is essential, along with the ability to work responsibly in a busy, public-facing environment.
