Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.
We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.
Job overviewThe Health Care Assistant will function as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the ward or department to provide a seamless service & high-quality care to patients under the support and direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
In this role you will be expected to undertake care to meet the needs of the patients under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, working within the Trust's policies, procedures and Trust Values and of the ward or department in a safe and person-centered environment for the treatment of patients whilst working collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team.

- Contribute to a standard of practice that promotes equality, dignity and respect for all patients, recognising and valuing individual beliefs, backgrounds and identities.
- Communicate relevant information promptly and accurately to appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity and safety of care.
- Provide support to patients and their relatives or carers as they adapt to the physical and emotional impact of illness or injury, offering reassurance and compassion throughout their care journey.

Person specificationQualifications Essential criteria - Short courses to undertake patient and clinical care duties, completion of a competency-based workbook or equivalent relevant experience to vocational training level 3
