Job summary

Individuals who are caring, compassionate and deliver high standards of care are encouraged to come and join our team on Ward 33 in a Health Care Assistant role.

Applicants will be able to demonstrate evidence that they are caring, compassionate, motivated, and enjoy working as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

Under supervision of a registered nurse you will work as part of a team to deliver high standards of care, supporting patients to feel safe, cared for and supported within the hospital environment. Duties will include:

• Provide and support patients as necessary with personal care activities e.g. Washing,bathing, toileting, feeding.
• Recording patient information within the Electronic Patient Record (Cerner).
• Observe patients and reports any changes to a registered professional for review.
• Undertake a range of basic housekeeping and administrative duties within the clinical environment.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training

Essential

• Level 2 qualification (e.g. GCSE Grade A-C, NVQ2) in Health & Social Care OR o A good standard of general education to GCSE level and the agreement to undertake the relevant L2 qualification on appointment

Desirable

• Experience working in a clinical environment
• Experience working in the NHS

Knowledge and Skills

Desirable

• Previous experience and training of manual handling patients using appropriate equipment
• Can demonstrate an understanding of the importance of promoting patient independence
• Able to provide support and reassurance to patients

Personal Attributes

• Ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• A positive attitude and ability to act on feedback
• Polite, friendly, approachable and self-motivated
