Job summaryWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to work within the Gynaecology Oncology team as a Band 7 Macmillan CNS.
The post holder will work as part of the Gynaecology CNS service, providing expert clinical care, advice, and support patients with suspected or confirmed gynaecological cancers throughout their care pathway. The post holder will play a pivotal role in coordinating care, supporting patients and their families, and ensuring a high standard of patient centred care.
The post holder will contribute to the effective management of cancer pathways, support the multidisciplinary team, and ensure patients receive timely information, holistic assessment, and ongoing support from diagnosis through to treatment and beyond.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to improving outcomes and experience for patients.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will provide a specialist nursing service offering holistic patient centred care to patients who are being investigated, treated and living beyond cancer.
As a clinical nurse specialist the post holder will provide a high quality nursing service to patients and their families with gynaecological cancers.
They will support and mentor junior colleagues within the Macmillan team, providing skills and knowledge in the effective management of patients. The post holder will act as a clinical expert and professional resource within the multidisciplinary team.
