Job descriptionThis role sits within HM Treasury's Digital Communications team and supports the publication of the department's documents and announcements on GOV.UK, including major fiscal events such as the Budget.
HM Treasury publishes more than 1,000 documents each year, including some of the government's most high profile economic announcements. This role offers the opportunity to work at the centre of those publications, helping ensure complex policy documents and announcements are published clearly, accurately and accessibly for a wide public audience.
Working closely with the Senior Content Designer for GOV.UK, you will help manage the end to end publishing process for Treasury documents, ensuring they meet high editorial and accessibility standards.
You will work with policy teams, press officers and other colleagues across the department to plan, edit and publish digital content. The role requires strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple publications in a fast paced and high profile environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver the publication of HM Treasury documents and announcements on GOV.UK, working within departmental publishing standards and guidance set by the Senior Content Designer.
- Coordinate the digital publishing process for major Treasury publications, including supporting the delivery of fiscal events such as the Budget, managing timelines and working with teams across the department to ensure content is ready for publication.
- Edit and structure complex documents and web content so they are clear, accessible and suitable for online audiences, ensuring content meets GOV.UK style and accessibility requirements.
- Work closely with policy teams, press officers and other stakeholders to provide advice on preparing documents for digital publication and navigating the publishing process.
- Provide day to day advice to colleagues across the department on preparing content for publication and using Treasury publishing templates.
- Work with the wider digital communications team to coordinate supporting content for GOV.UK, including graphics and other digital outputs linked to key announcements.
- Identify opportunities to improve publishing processes and accessibility, contributing to the development of departmental guidance and best practice.
Experience of GOV.UK publishing tools is helpful but not required. We welcome candidates with relevant digital publishing or content design experience from other sectors.
