Global Portfolio Manager, Partnerships for Forests (P4F) (Maternity Cover)

Abot the Project:Partnerships for Forests (P4F) is one of the flagship programmes in the Climate and Environment practice area at Palladim. P4F is a grants and technical assistance facility that spports bsinesses and investment models in which the private sector, pblic sector and commnities can achieve improved retrns from forests and sstainable land se whilst protecting existing forest, restoring degraded land and improving agricltral land management and prodction practices. All this work is focsed across the tropical forests belt.
P4F is a 5-year programme that began in Febrary 5. Depending on performance and sbject to fnding, the programme may be extended for a frther 5 years (p to 35). The programme is fnded by the K government.
This Opportnity:Palladim and Partnerships for Forests (P4F) are seeking a Global Portfolio Manager (Maternity Cover) to lead the programme's cross-ctting global work, inclding the Demand Side Measres (DSM) and Enabling Conditions (EC) portfolios. The role will frther develop a focsed investment portfolio aligned with regional priorities and designed to drive systemic change in sstainable land-se markets. Based primarily in the K, yo will manage grants that advance policy and market change, engage the global private sector, and strengthen regional delivery throgh collaboration and scalable models. Yo will oversee projects against the programme strategy and reslts framework, ensring vale for money, additionality, and measrable impact. Working with corporates, investors, governments, civil society, and regional teams, yo will bild partnerships, nlock finance, spport inclsive vale chains, and promote learning across P4F's priority themes: policy and market access; carbon and corporate claims; smallholder inclsion and risk; resilience; and capital mobilisation.
This is an 11-month, fll-time maternity cover role (4 hors per week with benefits), with an anticipated start date of 1 November 6. The contract cold be extended for a frther months depending on retrn-to-work agreement.Location:The position will be based in either
Palladim's London or Bristol office. Please note that applicants mst have the right to work in the K, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Palladim follows a hybrid working model, with three days in the office and two days remote. Flexible working arrangements are available to help staff balance work and personal commitments.
Reporting Lines:The Global Portfolio Manager reports to the Team Leader, P4F, who is based in Bristol, K.
The Global Portfolio Manager will line manage at least 1 staff member and task manage a frther team members.
Primary Responsibilities:- Lead the identification, development, and approval of grant projects aligned with programme, regional, and reslts frameworks, ensring annal delivery targets are met
- Bild and manage relationships across civil society, pblic, and private sector stakeholders to inform strategy and sorce high-impact project opportnities
- Develop and oversee a strategic cross-ctting portfolio, driving innovation, replication, scaling, and alignment with regional priorities across Latin America, Africa, and Soth-east Asia
- Oversee grant proposal development and project implementation, ensring milestones, reslts, bdgets, and timelines are achieved while resolving delivery challenges
- Spervise and develop Project Officers, providing gidance on project design, approvals, contracting, delivery, and professional growth
- Lead client engagement and external representation, facilitating high-level meetings and participating in conferences, panels, and indstry forms
- Monitor policy, finance, and market trends in forests and sstainable land se, applying insights to portfolio strategy, transformational change, Vale for Money, Theory of Change, and GESI approaches
- Lead programme learning, MEL coordination, client reporting, knowledge sharing, impact storytelling, and lessons learned across the portfolio

Essential Criteria:- Experience in international development, climate, natre, forestry, sstainable land se, or related sectors
- Experience working with sstainable spply chains and key commodities, inclding coffee, cocoa, palm oil, rbber, timber, soy, NTFPs, and carbon/PES markets
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights, data, and stakeholder engagement into effective programme strategies
- nderstanding of trends, challenges, and opportnities in financing sstainable land se, forest conservation, and natre-based soltions in tropical regions
- Knowledge of international forest policy, conservation finance, and mechanisms spporting sstainable land se and forest protection
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering high performance and professional growth
- Strong project and portfolio management skills, inclding the ability to review work, provide constrctive feedback, and ensre high-qality delivery
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with experience working across pblic, private, donor, and civil society sectors
- Strong commnication and presentation skills, with the ability to inflence and engage diverse adiences both virtally and in person
- Flency in English, with exceptional written, verbal, and report-writing skills
- Adaptable and agile, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment
- Innovative and soltions-oriented, demonstrating intellectal criosity and strong problem-solving capabilities
- Strong interpersonal skills, inclding collaboration, networking, diplomacy, and the ability to bild trsted relationships

- Previos line management experience, inclding responsibility for performance management and professional development of staff
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally as reqired
- Experience overseeing large, complex delivery portfolios with mltiple stakeholders
Desirable Criteria:- Experience in an organisation or private company rnning FCDO-fnded or other large international development programmes
- Edcational backgrond with a qalification(s) in a sbject relevant to the sector, inclding Environmental Stdies, Economics, Pblic Policy, International Development or Relations etc.
- Experience with development financial instittions and banks
- Flency in Spanish, Portgese, French, and/or Bahasa Indonesia
