Job summary

Are you an experienced mental health clinician ready to make a real impact? Join our innovative team and champion mental health within Hertfordshire's Youth Justice Service.

You'll lead on assessing and addressing the mental health needs of young people involved in the criminal justice system, delivering specialist interventions and managing a varied caseload. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician with strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills to develop their expertise in a challenging yet hugely rewarding area of practice.

The primary geographical area for clinical work will be East Hertfordshire, although travel to other locations across the Trust may be required in line with service needs.

  • Lead on specialist mental health assessments and provide expert clinical advice.
  • Manage a defined caseload and deliver tailored interventions to young people involved in the criminal justice system.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with youth justice, social care and health professionals to coordinate appropriate support and referrals.
  • Provide specialist consultation, guidance and training to youth justice colleagues and wider health professionals, including GPs, school nurses and CYPMHS teams.
