Job summary

Applications are invited for NHS Locum Consultant ENT Surgeon post for United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Consultant ENT Surgeon to join the Head & Neck Service at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, part of Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group. The successful candidate will join a supportive team of Consultant ENT Surgeons delivering high-quality elective and emergency ENT services across Lincolnshire. The role offers opportunities to contribute to service development, teaching, training, audit and research whilst providing comprehensive ENT care to our local population.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Deliver high-quality elective and emergency ENT services.
  • Undertake outpatient clinics, theatre sessions and inpatient care.
  • Participate in the Consultant ENT on-call rota.
  • Support the education and supervision of junior doctors and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Contribute to audit, clinical governance and quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in the ongoing development of ENT services across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities:
  • The successful applicant will provide a comprehensive ENT service, including outpatient clinics, theatre activity, ward care and emergency ENT provision. The role includes participation in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical audit, teaching, research and service development. The post holder will work closely with Consultant colleagues, junior doctors and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care. Participation in the Trust-wide ENT on-call rota is required.

Qualifications/ Clinical skills

Essential

  • Full GMC Registration
  • FRCS(ORL-HNS) or equivalent.
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR eligibility).
Desirable

  • Higher Degree (MD, MSc, PhD or equivalent).
Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience of emergency ENT Surgery
  • Experience of teaching and supervising trainees.
  • Extensive experience in ENT Surgery
  • Experience of clinical audit and clinical governance activities

  • Previous involvement in service redesign or development
  • Experience of educational supervision
