Welcome to VERCIDA website.
Skip to main contentWe are seeking HCPC registrants and lay individuals to undertake the role of panel chair (registrant and lay), within the Fitness to Practise department.
The HCPTS is the fitness to practise adjudication service of the Health and Care Professions Council. Panels hear and determine cases on behalf of the HCPTS's three Practice Committees: the Investigating, Conduct and Competence and Health Committees. Panel chairs may occasionally be asked to sit as panel members or act as a member of a Registration Appeals Panel, conducting registration appeals under Article 37 of the Health and Social Work Professions Order 2001. When asked to sit as a panel member, the panel member rate will apply.
You must meet the criteria set out in the Information for Applicants. We expect panel chairs to commit to between ten and fifteen days per year to ensure retention of their skills and competencies. The length of hearings, and amount of prior notice given, will vary and can fit around most diary commitments.
We pay a rate of £348 per day when sitting as a panel chair, as well as travel and accommodation expenses for any in person hearing, in accordance with the HCPC Expense Policy. As a partner, you will receive an additional 12.07% of the current fee, which will represent rolled up holiday pay. Partners will also be automatically enrolled into the HCPC partner pension scheme if they meet the eligibility criteria. We will offer a 3% contribution and a contribution of 5% will be automatically deducted from your fees. You may opt out of the scheme at any time.
The HCPC is committed to equality of opportunity and actively seeks to eliminate unfair discrimination on any grounds (including sexual orientation, religion or beliefs, race, sex, age or disability).
