My client is a fast growing, innovative SME business looking for a commercially minded Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function as their business expands in the UK and internationally. It is a hands on SME FC role, with strong exposure to senior leadership and the exec board where you will be expected to provide commercial insight to senior management, rather than simply financial reporting/accounting. THE ROLELead the day-to-day finance functionLine manage the company BookkeeperProduce monthly management accountsPrepare annual/monthly budgets and rolling forecastsManage cash-flow forecasting and working capitalProvide financial analysis to support strategic decision-makingSupport pricing and profitability analysisIdentify opportunities to improve margins and operational efficiencyEvaluate investment opportunities and business casesSupport international financial planning as overseas operations grow Produce and present Board packs, financial reports and KPI dashboardsMonitor profitability across products, customers and projectsMaintain appropriate financial controls and internal processesEnsure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirementsManage month-end and year-end closeLiaise with external accountants and auditorsPrepare VAT returnsOversee UK and international tax complianceIf you are looking for a number one in finance role in a fast growing SME where you will have the autonomy to make change, implement processes and influence decisions then this may be the role for you.
