  • About The Role
  • Our Governors wish to appoint a School Finance Manager, we are seeking somebody to lead our finance team and ensure the financial health and sustainability of our School. You will provide strong financial leadership, ensure effective financial management and controls, and help translate our financial strategy into meaningful operational delivery.

    We are looking for a confident and collaborative finance professional who can combine technical expertise with leadership, strategic thinking and a genuine appetite for improvement. You will be comfortable working with senior colleagues, challenging constructively, managing competing priorities and communicating complex financial information clearly to a range of audiences.

    You will need to be a qualified accountant, a member of a relevant professional accountancy body, or hold the CIPFA Level 7 qualification.

    This post is a customer-facing position and falls within the scope of the Code of Practice on English Language Requirement for Public Sector Workers. The school has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the JD/Person Specification.

  • Blackfen School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care.

    In 2026, 62.9% of students in year 11 achieved five or more GCSE 9-4 grades, including at least a 4 in English and a 4 in Mathematics. Progress was also strong. At A level in 2025/2026, 38.5% of grades were at A*-B. Similarly, high levels were achieved in Level 3 BTEC qualifications.
