The Children and Families Department takes a strengths-based approach to working with each other, children, young people and families, and our partner agencies. We call this 'Our Nottinghamshire Approach'. Watch the two minute animation to learn more.

At Nottinghamshire County Council, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for our community. We believe in empowering individuals and families, ensuring that every child has access to the education they deserve. Join us in our mission to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable pupils.

An exciting opportunity awaits you to join our growing Multiagency Alternative Education Team as an EOTAS Professional Practitioner! In this vital role, you will ensure that all pupils with education health and care plans, children missing education, and excluded groups of children and young people access appropriate education. This is your chance to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable pupils!

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating with alternative education providers, schools, and academies to fulfil Nottinghamshire County Council's statutory obligations.
  • Working closely with various Nottinghamshire County Council services, including the SEND service, fair access team, virtual school, and social emotional and mental health team, to secure appropriate support and access to education.
  • Contributing to the coordination of Nottinghamshire County Council's Children Missing Education (CME) Strategy.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory duties to mitigate risks associated with high-level fines.

To thrive in this role, you will need:
  • Relevant Level 3 qualifications, including GCSE or equivalent, in English and Maths.
  • An appropriate qualification to NVQ Level 3 related to children and young people or more than 5 years' experience of working with vulnerable children and young people.
  • Skills in negotiation, evaluation, and analysis.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Demonstrates a high level of personal drive and commitment to excellent customer care.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills to gain the agreement and acceptance of others, including colleagues and senior managers.
  • Can make decisions and solve problems to meet operational targets, involving devising solutions and prioritising available resources.

At Nottinghamshire County Council, we offer:
  • A place to belong: A friendly, inclusive workplace where everyone is valued.
  • Professional development: Opportunities for continuous learning and growth.
  • Flexible working: A supportive environment that promotes work-life balance.
  • Generous leave: Time off to recharge and focus on your well-being.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to be a part of something meaningful! If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people, we want to hear from you. Apply now and join Nottinghamshire County Council in our mission to support our community!
