Job Advert Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join South Wales Police as an Engagement & Insights Co-ordinator based in Bridgend.

This is a dynamic and impactful role within the Communities & Partnerships Team, supporting the force's commitment to putting communities at the heart of policing. You will play a key role in strengthening relationships with the public, ensuring community voices are heard, and translating feedback into meaningful insight that shapes policing priorities and services.

As part of the role, you will support the delivery of South Wales Police's community engagement and insight activity by managing and developing the South Wales Listens platform, helping to increase participation, analyse feedback, support and deliver training to Neighbourhood Policing Teams and ensuring community voices are reflected in decision-making.

The role will also assist in the coordination and delivery of force-wide engagement initiatives, supporting the Public Engagement Manager to strengthen relationships with communities, improve engagement practices and provide meaningful insight that helps shape policing services and priorities.

You'll work closely with police officers, staff, partner agencies, and the wider public, contributing to a collaborative approach that improves trust, confidence, and service delivery across South Wales.

We're seeking a motivated and proactive individual who can:
  • Build strong, positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and communities
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and present information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities with strong organisational skills
  • Analyse and interpret data effectively to produce meaningful insight
  • Work independently and use initiative to improve engagement and participation
  • Utilise digital tools and platforms confidently, including online engagement systems and Microsoft Office
  • Influence colleagues and support the adoption of effective engagement practices
  • Handle sensitive information with professionalism and integrity

Successful candidates must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC (Management Vetting/Security Clearance) level.

Please note, if you are an internal candidate and subject to an ongoing PSD investigation, your appointment or placement in the role may be delayed pending an outcome. Whether the role is held open will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic individuals are currently underrepresented within the Force, we would particularly welcome applications from ethnically diverse candidates.
