Engagement and Support Officer (Science)

Do you have a passion for supporting young people to reach their full potential and an interest in working within a busy and successful Science department?

As a Science Engagement and Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting students across our Science provision, helping to promote excellent attendance, positive behaviour and engagement with their studies.

You will join a committed and student-focused Science team, working closely with students to identify and address barriers that may be affecting their attendance, behaviour or progress. You'll monitor and analyse attendance and behaviour data, provide targeted support for students at risk of disengagement, and work closely with Science teaching staff, Progress Coaches, parents/guardians and, where appropriate, external agencies to help students remain engaged and succeed on their course.

You will be a visible and approachable presence within the Science department, building positive relationships with students while maintaining clear expectations around attendance, punctuality, behaviour and engagement.

An understanding of mental health and safeguarding would be beneficial, alongside experience of working with young people in an education, youth work or social care setting. You will be a confident communicator, able to engage effectively with students, families and professionals, with strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of the wider Science team.

This post is term time only. The salary for the term time only post is: £24,329 pa - £26,201 pa
