Education/ qualifications

Essential criteria

• Current Clinical registration - NMC or HCPC and educated to postgraduate diploma /degree level
• Post registration clinical qualification(s) in speciality or relevant subject at level 7 e.g. Palliative and / or EoLC
• Recognised teaching qualification e.g. Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education
• Management certificate or equivalent experience

Desirable criteria

• Master's degree or evidence of working towards one - in clinical education, advanced practice or a relevant specialty
• Quality Improvement qualification / fellowship
• Leadership qualification
• Project management course or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential criteria

• Extensive clinical practice experience in EoLC
• Experience of teaching and assessing others
• Experience of direct line management
• Experience of leading improvement and implementing change
• Experience of writing policy or guidelines
• Experience of writing policy or guidelines

Desirable criteria

• Experience of chairing and agenda setting clinical or non-clinical forums
• Experience of publishing or presenting academic or improvement work

Skills/knowledge/ abilities

Essential criteria

• Extensive knowledge of EoLC and ability to perform clinical activities specific to speciality
• Teaching and coaching skills
• Ability to lead and manage a team
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Advanced written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of quality, standard setting, benchmarking and audit
• Intermediate ICT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft 365
• Ability to interpret simple descriptive statistics
