Employment Specialist - Connect to Work Isle of Wight

Location
  • The role will be based in or Newport office with travel expected across the island throghot the week to commnity venes.

  • Salary will be £7,976 - £9,5 depending on experience. Travel expenses over and above those to the base location will be reimbrsed.

    Primary Dties andresponsibilities:

    Yor responsibilities will inclde:

  • Champion or cstomers as valable candidates by actively promoting them to employers and raising awareness and spport available throgh the programme
  • Creating and following throgh with individalised action plans ensring appropriate and effective activity is ndertaken by and with each cstomer.
  • Have reglar check-ins with cstomers to track their progress before starting employment and once in employment
  • Advocate for the vales of or programmes by working in partnership with employers to view or clients positively and inclsively dring recritment.
  • Bild potential employment opportnities throgh proactive engagement with potential employers.
  • Facilitate work experiences, sch as placements, trials, and shadowing opportnities with sitable employers where appropriate.
  • Provide ongoing In Work Spport to cstomers who have sccessflly gained employment, helping them sstain and thrive in their roles, inclding working in partnership with employers.
  • Address cstomer's personal constraints to employment, providing challenge, advice, and gidance where appropriate to develop cstomers capability in the recritment process ensring they have the necessary skills and confidence to secre employment.
  • Identify,strctre, and recommend vacancy and training soltions, working in close consltation with the team to meet the specific needs of cstomers and employers.
  • Maintain cstomer records to a reqired qality standard to ensre the cstomer jorney is docmented in accordance with or qality standards and contractal reqirements.
  • Develop an nderstanding of specialist signposting services in the local area/region, bilding knowledge in areas sch as specific disabilities, hosing, benefits etc
  • Meet personal performance targets, Key Performance Indicators and all Qality and Compliance measres by delivering high qality employability provision to cstomers

  • Skills and experience:

    Reqired
  • A passion for working with people and have a soltion focsed approach
  • Experience working with people facing barriers to employment inclding health conditions and disabilities
  • Experience of providing one to one spport and coaching to individals with the ability to constrctively challenge where needed.
  • Proven experience in developing networks and bilding strong partnerships to spport cstomers goals
  • A flexible approach to working hors is essential, inclding the ability to spport occasional evening and weekend activities.
  • Strong organisational skills inclding managing caseloads
  • Knowledge of safegarding, data protection and confidentiality reqirements

  • Desirable
  • Driving licence and access to a car given the commnity delivery of the contract
  • Track record of helping individals progress into work
  • nderstanding of spported employment programmes, sch as IPS
  • Edcated at niversity degree or alternatively have a demonstrated track record of performance and sccess in target driven sales, cstomer service or case-management roles
  • Knowledge of the employment market in their area.
  • Experience providing spport and gidance on welfare and benefits, with a strong nderstanding of mental health and physical health challenges

  • Project Overview and Role:Connect to Workis a K government-fnded initiative that forms part of the Get Britain Working Strategy. It is aimed at spporting individals with disabilities, health conditions, or other complex challenges in finding andmaintaininggood, sstainable work. Programme delivery will inclde both IPS (Individal Placement Spport) and SEQF (Spported Employment) approaches, tailoring the service to the individal. Local embedded commnity spport will be key to engagement and delivery, and the contract will work alongside local partners, stakeholders and employers. Individals can either self-refer or be referred by professionals.
    Palladim is responsible for the contract in Isle of Wight working alongside key partners.

    This role is sbject to an Enhanced Disclosre and Barring Service (DBS) check. The sccessfl candidate will be reqired to ndergo this check before commencing employment.
