Hybrid Working is available for this role. Typically, four days based on campus minimum.

Estates and Facilities Management is seeking to appoint an Electrical Clerk of Works within its Capital Projects/PMO team to play a key role in the delivery of the university's capital investment programme.

The University has more than 19,000 students and over 3,900 staff that benefit from the great facilities, plenty of open space, gardens and sports areas, interspersed with academic buildings and student accommodation. With an estimated estates investment programme of c. £200m over the next 5 years the University is seeking to make the appointment of an Electrical Clerk of Works to assist with the management of major/minor and LTM projects.

An Electrical Clerk of Works is essential to oversee the electrical element of project delivery to ensure adherence to the brief/specification, to ensure the necessary quality required by the LU standards on workmanship and installation. To support the project manager acting as their 'eyes and ears' on site.

Working within a high-performing team of Project Managers, this is a key role that takes responsibility for developing, defining, procuring and managing a diverse range of refurbishment, maintenance and new building projects across the University's diverse estate portfolio.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of the electrical element of the project management on complex refurbishment and new build projects, ideally within a university environment. Adequate experience is required to allow the post holder to represent, liaise and negotiate with consultants, contractors and key stakeholders in order to deliver quality, programme, ensure health and safety and legislative compliance along with best value requirements whilst working in partnership with the project managers.

Strong technical electrical skills are also required as is an interest in understanding the management of the delivery of a variety of projects from inception to completion.
