Post No. EDUSM50066.1 - Education Information & Development Officer

Education Service - Education Planning and Development Team

Full-time, permanent (part time/job share considered)

The Education Planning and Development Team is seeking to recruit an Education Information and Development Officer. The Education Planning and Development Team is responsible for all aspects of the Sustainable Communities for Learning, School Reorganisation and Welsh in Education programmes.

The role of Education Information & Development Officer is intrinsic to these programmes and the wider Education Service as a whole as it provides a research and reporting function which directly supports and influences key education strategies and policies. This post is responsible for supporting the monitoring and delivery of projects within the education capital programme, ensuring projects are delivered to the specified scope, in-budget, and on time. It is expected that significant cross-team working will take place to support the resilience and effectiveness of the central Education Service.

We are seeking to recruit an individual who is educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent and has experience of working in a busy office environment, supporting services which impact on the public, and has a working knowledge of desktop software products, data analysis and report writing.

The successful postholder will be expected to undertake a wide variety of tasks, including analysing and presenting data, arranging meetings and taking minutes, writing reports and facilitating consultation events. The postholder will be required to act on their own initiative where appropriate to support improvements across the whole service area. There will be occasions where flexible working is necessary in order to achieve service area requirements, and will include supporting stakeholder engagement sessions. Due to the nature of the business needs of this post, annual leave is generally to be taken during times of school closure, although there is some local flexibility around this.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974).
