The Trust is rated 'Good' overall by the CQC and 'Outstanding' for Caring and Effective services. Conquest Hospital and Community Services are rated 'Outstanding', with Eastbourne DGH rated 'Good'.

Specialist Services

At Bexhill Hospital and Bexhill Health Centre, services include: maternity, paediatrics, heart failure clinics, dietetics, ophthalmic day surgery, macular degeneration follow-up, diabetic retinal screening and rehabilitation via the Irvine Unit.

Qualification & Registration

Essential criteria

• MBBS or equivalent
• Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice

Desirable criteria

• Part A FRCA, MRCS, MRCP, MRCEM
• Educational qualification

Training and experience

Essential criteria

• Successful completion of Foundation Programme

Desirable criteria

• ALS certified

Administration

Essential criteria

• Excellent organisational & administrative skills

Audit & Research and Publications

Essential criteria

• Understanding of principles of medical audit
• Understanding of the role of research

Desirable criteria

• Emerging track record of highquality publications in reputable journals and other appropriate media of a similar standing
• Experience of generating research or knowledge exchange income.

Personal skills & attributes

Essential criteria

• Effective communicator, able to work in a multi-disciplinary team
• Leadership qualities
• Excellent IT skills
• Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work as part of a dynamic team that is committed to innovation and high standards
• Ability to work on their own and take initiative without close supervision.

Teaching

Essential criteria

• Teaching experience and a sound knowledge of the medical school curriculum
