Job description
Ecologist (£37,563 - £40,444 pro rata @ 29.6 hours per week / 0.8 FTE), Temporary 12 months maternity cover (starting from commencement) Now is the time to work for Warwickshire County Council; the first Council to deliver Biodiversity Net Gain and is at the forefront of other nature markets.
We are looking for an Ecologist for one year at approximately 4 days a week to cover maternity leave. Your primary role will be to deliver ecological planning advice for a district or borough council within Warwickshire. There will also be opportunities to support the Warwickshire Biological Record Centre; carry out ecological surveys for project work; and help fashion new nature markets to support investment into Warwickshire, all to deliver the Warwickshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy.
You will be joining a dedicated, knowledgeable, and experienced team comprising 14 ecological officers, five historic environment officers, and two landscape architects.
General Information We are seeking an enthusiastic officer with good ecological background knowledge. Those with a proven track record for delivering high-quality planning advice will be at an advantage. Currently, this post is for 1 year, but our team is growing and there is a significant chance that it will be extended with the aim to become permanent.
