Job description

Job summary

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our well established Oral Health Promotion team.

This is part-time, term time only position (22.5 hours).

You will need to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously to ensure that school and nursery settings are supported, to enable them to maintain toothbrushing and fluoride varnish throughout the academic year.

We are seeking an individual who will integrate well within the team, and open to developing the broader Oral Health Promotion activities.

Main duties of the job

Working under the direction of the Oral Health Practitioner (OHP), you will support the delivery of the Designed to Smile Oral Health Programme by promoting positive oral health behaviours to children, families and carers. The role involves providing basic oral health advice, encouraging participation in oral health promotion activities, and developing strong relationships with schools and nurseries to support programme delivery. You will also assist with health promotion events, study days and patient-focused initiatives across the community.

In addition, you will provide administrative support to the oral health promotion team, ensuring accurate completion of records, data collection and computer-based tasks. The role includes driving Designed to Smile vans and monitoring vehicle maintenance requirements, including servicing, MOTs and repairs. You will contribute to the ongoing monitoring, evaluation and improvement of the service, helping to maintain quality standards while effectively managing your workload to support the successful delivery of programme objectives.
