Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Deputy Team Manager within the Children in Need Team to work Full Time based in Guernsey.
The salary for this permanent Deputy Team Manager role is up to £78,250 per annum.
Main duties: - Assist the Team Manager in leading and develop an integrated service for children, young people, and families, with responsibility for the management of safe and effective service delivery.
- Model behaviours that encourage reflective practice, professional confidence and sound decision-making.
- Communicate and consult with other agencies, which involves giving and receiving highly complex and sensitive information.
- Encourage and support practitioners to gain the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours that will enable them to actively support each child, young person, young adult, and family to achieve their potential.
- Ensure that the committees meets its statutory obligations to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, complying with legislation, statutory guidance, policy and procedures and relevant frameworks.
- Under the direction of the Team Manager provide leadership and professional expertise to the social work team ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
- To undertake audits of cases and quality assure front-line practice on a regular basis to drive continuous improvement and enhancement of social work practice.
- Ensure that risk assessment strategies are employed within areas of responsibility and that relevant actions are taken to minimise any identified risks.
- Assist the Team Manager in utilising information and data from a range of sources to identify problems, guidance decision-making are kept fully-informed of the team's performance and are enabled to contribute towards improving performance.
- Model effective communication skills within the team, the service and communicate effectively in highly charged or challenging circumstances.
- Effectively manage allocated workload by appropriately prioritising tasks and through efficient time management.
- Authorise assessments, reports and care plans and take responsibility for ensuring plans for children & their families/carers are implemented in accordance with statutory requirements and practice standards.
- To maintain high levels of excellence and professional practice by attending in-service and external training courses and conferences, personal study, supervision, and reflective practice as evidenced in a continued professional development portfolio.
- To prepare papers, write articles or undertake research based on own area of expertise and service requirements, as appropriate.
- To participate in staff and service development through attendance at service meetings and in-service training, including taking a lead, facilitating such events, and presenting information as appropriate.

Requirements of this Deputy Team Manager Job. - Degree or Equivalent in Social Work.
- Current Social Work England Registration.
- Post Qualifying Social Work Experience.
