Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic analysis and delivery for high priority projects. This will include producing briefing materials and scoping documents for senior officials, which will include policy options and recommendations.

• Lead engagement with relevant colleagues across Ofgem and key external stakeholders to develop a shared understanding of the problem, options and solutions related to a particular project.

• Provide support, guidance, and mentorship to more junior members of the team.This may include line management either as work manager or in a matrix capacity.

• Lead a smooth transition at the end of Delivery Unit work, this may include preparing handover materials and conducting a lessons learned exercise.

• Lead, oversee and produce high-quality, well-structured analysis and research

• Produce concise briefing notes, presentations, papers, emails for discussion with key senior stakeholders on key policy and corporate strategy issues which include clear recommendations

Essential Criteria

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, being agile and comfortable working with ambiguity, managing multiple concurrent priorities and projects. (Lead)

• Critical thinking: A track record of translating strategy into delivery, ability to understand the work of the team and the Directorate in a wider, strategic context, and to identify and take up opportunities to develop this knowledge over time.(Lead)

• Stakeholder engagement: a track record of building collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders, engaging and influencing to secure desired outcomes.

• Communications: Excellent ability to communicate effectively to a range of internal and external audiences both in writing and in presentations, and to convey complex issues clearly and concisely
