Purpose of the Post

We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated data specialist with strong SQL, data handling and analytical skills to help manage and develop two large longitudinal databases: the established UK National Neonatal Research Database; NNRD and the newly established International Neonatal Research Database.

The successful candidate will join Professor Modi's Neonatal Research Group based at the Chelsea and Westminster campus of Imperial College London. This is a multi-professional group of around 20 staff and students. The post holder will work closely with senior clinicians, other analysts, and the Senior Data Analyst. They will take a supportive role in data curation, managing and developing the databases. They will also contribute to research conducted by the Group.

Professor Modi and her group established the NNRD in 2007. This holds operational clinical information captured in the course of clinical care, as a national resource to support health services evaluations and research. Data in the NNRD comprise the Neonatal Data Set (an approved NHS information standard) and includes demographic details, and daily records of interventions and treatments throughout the neonatal in-patient stay, information on diagnoses and outcomes, and follow-up health status at age two-years. All neonatal units in England, Wales and Scotland submit data to the NNRD through their data entry supplier.

The appointee will also be responsible for developing and curating interactive PowerBI visualisation tools. There is ample opportunity for additional involvement in the wider areas of work of the Group, commensurate with the interests and career aspirations of the successful candidate.
