Job description
Cymru Virtual Family Space is a free, bilingual (Welsh and English) service that provides online support to parents and carers across Wales. Through workshops, parenting programmes, resources and direct support, we help families access the information, guidance and connections they need to support their children and family wellbeing.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Welsh-speaking Family Link Worker to join our growing team.
This is a Welsh Essential Project Worker 2 role. The post offers hybrid working, with the majority of work undertaken remotely from home. There will be occasional requirements to attend face-to-face meetings, training and service events. Evening and weekend working may be required to meet the needs of families and service delivery.
About the Role As a Family Link Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting parents and carers to engage with the wide range of support available through Cymru Virtual Family Space. Working primarily on a one-to-one basis, you will build relationships with families, identify barriers to engagement and provide practical and emotional support to help them access our workshops, parenting programmes and other services. You will also work alongside parents and carers to ensure their experiences, views and feedback directly influence the development of the service, helping us deliver support that meets the needs identified by families themselves.
The role will involve undertaking brief assessments to understand individual needs and circumstances, providing information and guidance, and signposting families to appropriate local and national services where additional support may be beneficial.
You will support parents and carers to develop the confidence and skills needed to participate in virtual groups and online learning opportunities. This may include helping families to overcome anxiety about joining groups, increasing their digital confidence, and providing encouragement throughout their engagement with the service.
Working closely with facilitators and colleagues across the service, you will help ensure that families receive the right support, at the right time, in a way that works for them.
Key Responsibilities - Provide one-to-one support to parents and carers across Wales through telephone, video call and other virtual methods.

- Provide information, guidance and signposting to relevant local and national services.
- Maintain accurate records in line with Barnardo's policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure families experience a seamless and supportive journey through the service.
- Promote the service and contribute to outreach and engagement activities across Wales.
- Occasional weekend and evening working.
What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who:
- Is fluent in Welsh and English, with the ability to communicate confidently in both languages.
