Job overview

We require a friendly and professional person to assist with the preparation of patients and help the radiographers with the day to day running of the CT scanner, with a rotation periodically through the Ultrasound department also.

The successful candidate will have good IT and communication skills, an ability to work well in stressful conditions and have experience of dealing with members of the general public.

At the Hammersmith Hospital a comprehensive range of procedures over all modalities are performed. Both clinical and research work is undertaken.

Main duties of the job

• Decontaminating and cleaning dedicated CT equipment, accessories and environment
• Ensuring own safety in CT environment and CT controlled areas and being aware of the safety of others
• To control access of personnel to the CT environment
• Managing blood and body fluid spills
• Maintaining sharps bins/disposal
• Performing and documenting weekly fire safety checks
• Checking electrical equipment, such as accessory equipment switches, ensuring battery operated equipment is working, and PAT test dates are maintained
• Cleaning, moving and charging CT accessory equipment, to facilitate service efficiency and effectiveness
• Participation in departmental wide cleaning workarounds, hand hygiene assessments and maintaining associated records
