Education/Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, or equivalent qualification, or significant relevant practical experience.


Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of NHS commissioning, NHS Standard Contracts and the health and social care environment.


Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of administrative procedures, document control, information analysis and preparing professional documents.
  • Experience of working in NHS contracting, commissioning or a similar public-sector environment.
  • Experience of handling a high volume of work and meeting deadlines.


Desirable criteria
  • Experience of contract management or contract development.
  • Experience of proofreading complex or lengthy documents.
  • Experience of provider or stakeholder liaison.


Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, re-prioritise and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to draft and update contracts, variations and supporting documents accurately.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications to analyse data and prepare professional documents. Clear written and verbal communication skills and confidence liaising with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, use initiative and escalate appropriately.


Desirable criteria
  • Familiarity with contract management systems, including Atamis/Health Family or a comparable web based based system.
  • Familiarity with clinical systems
  • Working knowledge of NHS contract management and reporting requirements.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
