Programmed activities (PA's)

For a whole-time contract: A total of 10 PAs

Clinical Activities: 8 PAs per week (including clinical activity, clinically related activity, predictable and unpredictable emergency work)

Supporting Professional Activities: 2 PAs per week (including audit, clinical governance, CPD, teaching, research, educational supervision of junior staff and CPD)

Monday: Reporting (am) Neonatal MDT and Paediatric Ultrasound (pm)

Tuesday: Paediatric MDT/ fluoroscopy (am) and SPA (pm)

Wednesday: Reporting (am) and Paediatric Ultrasound (pm)

Thursday: SPA (am) and Paediatric ultrasound (pm)

Friday: General/CT reporting and Hot reporting 1-3/ Reporting (pm)

Regular meetings: There are various MDT and departmental/ divisional meetings which the post-holder will attend as required.

Provide high quality care to patients in Imaging
Research, teaching and training
Leadership and team working

The applicants must hold their CCT in Radiology or be on the GMC Speciality Register, or be within 6 months of being granted a CCT. Candidates who wish to work only part-time are encouraged to apply, as are applicants interested in job-sharing.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential criteria
  • On GMC's register with a Licence to Practice or eligible to apply for GMC registration and a Licence to Practice
  • On GMC's Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the register by the date of the interviews or eligible for specialist registration
  • Appropriate Royal College Membership


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Essential criteria
  • Formal subspecialty training in paediatric imaging including fluoroscopy, CT and MRI.
  • General radiology skills in plain radiography, ultrasound, CT and MRI.
  • IT Skills and computer literacy


LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT ROLES

Essential criteria
  • Able to take responsibility, show leadership, make decisions, exert appropriate authority
  • Knowledge of finance/budgets
  • Management of staff
  • Have proven skills in leading, motivating, developing and managing the performance of colleagues


TEACHING & TRAINING

Essential criteria
  • Experience of teaching and training undergraduates/postgraduates and junior medical staff


AUDIT

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of principles of clinical audit


ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of achievement appropriate to appointment at consultant level at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust


LANGUAGE

Essential criteria
  • Able to speak and write English to the appropriate standard necessary to fulfil the job requirements
