Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To actively engage and participate in the delivery of a safe and effective neuro anaesthesia service at the University Hospital of North Midlands

To participate in the development of neurosurgical and neuroradiological services at UHNM.

To cover neuro-anaesthesia and vascular / general anaesthesia sessions for routine work and on call activities to cover neuro-anaesthesia as on call consultant at Royal Stoke University Hospital at UHNM NHS Trust.

To actively participate in clinical governance and quality improvement activities in the department.

To actively participate in teaching, training and supervision of anaesthesia residents and medical students from Keele Medical School.

To actively engage and participate in the delivery of a safe and development of neurosurgical a

Person specification

Essential

Essential criteria
  • MBBS or MBChB
  • Full GMC registration with licence to practice
  • Completed specialist training in anaesthetics (CCT or CESR)


Desirable

Essential criteria
  • Fellowship in Neuro-anaesthesia
  • Additional post-graduate qualification or degree
  • Experience of anaesthesia for awake craniotomy


Essential

Essential criteria
  • Advanced training in neuro-anaesthesia (2010 curriculum) or Specialist Interest Area in neuro-anaesthesia (2021 curriculum)
