We are recruiting a Community Safety Control Room Operator at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours & Contract Type: 1 x 15 hours, fixed term until 31/03/2028. Please note that these hours will be worked in the evening.
Location: Tir-y-berth
Team: Public Protection

We pay an attractive salary of £11,597.84 - £12,171.49 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The Control Room currently manages 170+ public CCTV cameras, monitors 90+ Council owned premises and provides the Authority's Out of Hours Service taking over 6000 calls per year covering mainly Housing, Highways and Environmental issues.

The main duties are to operate the C.C.T.V Public Open Space surveillance systems, Out of Hours Emergency Calls and Buildings Alarm Activated surveillance systems in a conscientious and efficient manner, in accordance with specified operating procedures and Codes of Practice.

The successful candidates will need to demonstrate good communications / listening skills, attention to detail, I.T. skills and have previous experience in a job that required working with the public and delivering a service or working within a Control room environment. The successful candidates must be available to a shift pattern.

For the role, we ask that you have:

• 5 GCSEs Grade A*-C including Maths and English or equivalent.
• Experience in a job which required working with the public and delivering a service.
• IT skills particularly Microsoft Word and Outlook Express.
