Job summary

The Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies Support Officer role will support the Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies Manager and support all teams within the Commercial Procurement Services function and Trust with the efficient and effective receipting, storage/warehousing and logistical distribution management of clinical supplies (e.g. clinical consumables, pathology samples (bloods, swabs, etc), theatre equipment and pharmacy medication), non-clinical products (e.g. medical records, post, equipment and furniture) and movement of staff and key partner stakeholders (e.g. staff shuttle bus and through utilisation of the Trust's Taxi Services contract(s)) across all BHRUT sites and across North East London (NEL); using manual/physical, automated and vehicular (e.g. cars, vans and heavy goods lifting machinery) systems and processes in parallel to using Just In Time (JIT) methodology.

The post holder will support the Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies and Supplies Manager with key Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies related deliverables, by both working across all key Trust sites as well covering across other key Trust sites and supporting key operational and strategic procurement logistics initiatives across North-East London (NEL), as directed. This includes supporting across all aspects of AIMS / Omnicell in a supporting operational and administrative capacity.

Main duties of the job

This role will also involve working across all Trust and/or NEL based site-based sites (as requirements dictate and emerge) in support of all Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies teams and all Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies related activities, projects, programmes service outcomes. Additionally, this role will work collaboratively in a matrix structure on a project and programme specific basis, as both a supportive team member, as directed by the Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies and Supplies Manager.

This role will report directly to the Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies Manager, as well as supporting and covering for other Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies Support Officers (in relation to all distribution activities) and Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies Officers, as requirements dictate and/or on a rotational basis, across all Trust and / or NEL sites.

  • Educated to GCSE standard, specifically in English or equivalent qualificationsor experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development across the spectrum of commercial procurement; specificallyacross Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies.
  • A valid manual driving licence (in accordance with BHRUTinsurance requirements, internal policies and DVLA requirements) and ability to drive cars, small vans and large 3.5 tonne vans (Category B and all future requirements for this category as prescribed by the DVLA or superseding UK Government bodies oand/or legislation).
Desirable
