Job summary

The adult Haematology service at Imperial College healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) service runs one of teh largest stem cell transplant (SCT) JACIE accredited programmes within London, performing approximately 170 procedures annually. The portfolio of the transplant unit has further expanded to include CAR-T therapy and other innovative cellular/gene therapies.

We are currently recruiting to a Band 7 CNS/Coordinator role within the SCT team. The post holder will work as an integral member of the wider multi-disciplinary SCT coordination team, acting as a key worker, supporting the various transplant related treatment pathways.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated, possess advanced communication skills and have previous experience in the specialty, including stem cell transplant. Strong organisational skills and collaborative working would also be essential to ensure effective working with the wider multidisciplinary team to champion best practice and enhance patient experience throughout the transplant journey.

Main duties of the job

  • To fulfil the role of CNS, working as an autonomous practitioner, managing a defined caseload
  • Provide specialist nursing advice and support related to SCT/Cellular therapies
  • To support the safe coordination of SCT treatment pathways working as an integral member of the transplant coordination team.
  • To participate in all aspects of the planning and coordination process for patients undergoing SCT and other cellular therapies.

Essential

  • NMC Level 1 Registered Nurse
  • Educated to Degree level or above in related subject
  • Post registration qualification relevant to role at level 7 and evidence of continued professional development
  • Recognised post-registration teaching qualification.
Desirable

  • MSc or MA in related specialty
  • Psychological assessment course
  • Quality improvement training
Experience

Essential

  • Significant post registration and in specialty area and experience in either junior specialty role or team leader/ward management role
  • Experience with managing patient caseload relevant to specialty
  • Experience of working independently and as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team
  • To have demonstrable experience of service development
