Detailed job description and main responsibilities Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the set-up and ongoing management of clinical trials within the Breast Research portfolio
- Acting as a key point of contact for sponsors, investigators, research teams and support departments
- Maintaining essential trial documentation and Investigator Site Files
- Supporting regulatory submissions and trial amendments
- Maintaining screening, recruitment, training and delegation records
- Coordinating monitoring visits, audits and responses to findings
- Supporting accurate and timely trial data management and reporting
- Monitoring trial activity, recruitment and study progress
- Supporting trial finance processes, including the timely raising of invoices
- Ensuring trials are managed in accordance with GCP, Trust SOPs and relevant regulatory requirements
Person specificationEducation / Qualifications Essential criteria - Recent GCP training
- Life Sciences (or equivalent) degree or relevant experience
Experience Essential criteria - Demonstrable experience of working in a clinical trial setting
Desirable criteria - Experience of working in the NHS or equivalent
- Experience of working in the field of oncology
Skills Essential criteria - Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent IT skills including excel
- Experience of data entry and data management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact confidently with experts and non-experts
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to maintain adherence to written procedures
Desirable criteria - Understanding of clinical trials and regulations governing clinical research
Other Essential criteria - Able to work on both sites and from home to be flexible to meet the needs of the role
Desirable criteria - Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas to attend meetings and conferences

Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
